PLANNING AND PROJECT OF LINKS USING CELPLANNER

Target Audience
Engineers and technicians working with network links design.

Pre-requirements
Basic knowledge of RF propagation and communication systems. Because
CelPlanner™ works on PC platform, we recommend that students have previous knowledge of Windows systems and Excel spreadsheets.

Goals
Use all Network module resources to plan and design interconnection links.

Course Syllabus
The presentation of each menu is preceded by a theoretical explanation. The project developed in the course encompasses the following topics:

  • Definition of the service area;
  • Preparation of the antennas, topography, morphology, and image databases;
  • Creation of vector elements to determine service area contour;
  • Management of network sites using phases, areas, and flags;
  • Creation and characterization of network links;
  • Definition of the rain precipitation average rate;
  • Definition of the type of terrain between link ends;
  • Definition of environment refractivity index;
  • Definition of multipath fading model: ITU or Barnett – Vigants;
  • Calculation and visualization of point-to-point profile;
  • Definition of reference for evaluation of link quality, according to ITU standards;
  • Performance report generation;
  • Generation and analysis of plots over image, topography, and morphology;
  • Interference analysis;
  • Printing and analysis of the link report;
