PREDICTION MODELS CALIBRATION PROCEDURE

Target Audience
Engineers and technicians working with RF planning in cellular systems.

Pre-requirements
Basic knowledge of RF propagation and communication systems. Because
CelPlanner™ works on a PC platform, we recommend that students have previous knowledge of Windows systems and Excel spreadsheets.

Goals
Present a methodology for processing signal level files to calibrate and/or validate prediction models parameters.

Course Syllabus
This course is divided in two parts: theory and practice, performing measurements processing and prediction models calibration using
CelTools™.

Theory

  • Presentation of processing methodology;
  • Definition of measurement filters available;
  • Organization of processed data;
  • Presentation of the calibration machine;
  • Statistical studies comparing measurements and predictions.
Practice
  • Conversions of file formats;
  • Correction of coordinates using a second fixed GPS;
  • Characterization of measured sectors in each file;
  • Use of filters by signal level, distance, azimuth, and invalid morphologies;
  • Visualization of measurements over geo-referenced images, topography, or morphology using synchronized views;
  • Pprediction models calibration;
  • Validation of the calibration by using statistical studies to compare predictions and measurements;
  • Application of filters where delta between predictions and measurements is above a given threshold;
  • Export of prediction parameters table to CelPlanner.

Length

  • 2 days (14 hours)
