The increasing demand for throughput has driven the advent of new technologies and transmission features such as 5G-NR and 4G / LTE-A, smart antenna systems, massive MIMO and widespread use of small cells. The successful implementation of these new technologies, however, depends heavily on a clean spectrum, free from interference, to maximize transfer rates. OFDM/OFDMA systems such as 4G / LTE, 5G NR or even the new WiFi 6 (802.11ax) require more detailed knowledge and multipath analysis of RF communication channels throughout the deployment area.

CellSpectrum Plus™ is a specialized and detailed spectrum analyzer that covers a wide spectrum to perform activities such as band release, interference analysis and other tasks necessary for most wireless networks. Spectrum is captured with a software-defined receiver with a defined set of markers within the supported frequency bands that sample and digitize up to 100 MHz of spectrum at a time (real-time recording and collection capabilities) with a sampling rate of up to 125 MSamples/s and 14-bit scanning – all samples can be geotagged. The receiver has a wide dynamic range and automatic input level regulation to prevent saturation when close to transmitters. The system has a small size (light weight, with low power consumption).

The CellSpectrum Plus™ spectrum analyzer has two models covering up to the following frequency bands: CD18 (CellDigitizer up to 18GHz with CellSpectrum™ firmware) and CD27 (CellDigitizer up to 27GHz with CellSpectrum™ firmware). 30GHz and 40GHz downconverters are available to extend the covered spectrum. Spectrum is captured and stored for instant or future analysis. This provides great processing flexibility and can provide forensic evidence in specific scenarios.
